Artist's pedestal ATELIER 1A Berlin around 1900
No. 20706
B 80cm x H 2,05m x T 85cm
Description
Manufactured by Josef Pfau in Munich with the D.R.G.M., the construction, whose architecture is reminiscent of the Eiffel Tower, served as an artist's trestle in the Berlin Academy of Arts. Originally positioned above a shaft, the height of the tower shaft could be adjusted by two iron chains mounted on a crank operated shaft +/- 2m. The crank is no longer preserved. At the top there is a rotating wooden worktable, reinforced with iron bands.
The whole iron construction is riveted and screwed.
