Date: 1967

Technique: Oil on wood, framed

About the artist:

Rüdiger Moegelin was born in Berlin in 1942. From 1958 to 1960 he attended the Heinrich-Zernack-Schule für angewandte und freie Künste, Berlin. From 1965 he studied at the State Academy for Graphics, Printing and Advertising.

In 1982 he decided to become a freelance painter. Initially, the focus was on painting trips - painting “in front of the motif”. He spent time in Tuscany, Provence, Andalusia, Ticino and the Caribbean, for example. Soon, however, the studio works with their cycles such as “Eating and being eaten”, “DABIDU”, “Paradise and the” “Perceptions” predominated. From 1987 onwards, work on the subject of Berlin took on a special status. After the political change in 1990, the rapidly changing city became a new artistic challenge.
