Description

Artist:
Stefan Wewerka (b. 27.10.1928 in Magdeburg; d. 14.09.2013 in Berlin).
Architect, designer and artist. From 1978 collaboration with furniture company TECTA.

The offered pair is one of several prototypes and preliminary stages, which then led to the well-known model: B5 - Der Einschwinger Stuhl.

These asymmetrical chairs were developed in cooperation with Stefan Wewerka and TECTA. The peculiarity of this single-legged cantilever chair is the use of a single long piece of tubing, which is Maschinel bent. The final model B5 was developed in 1982.

The present chairs are already heavily marked by their age. Corrosion has led in some cases to the peeling of the red paint. One chair is missing the seat upholstery. The remaining upholstery is partially cracked and dirty.
