Description
Artists:
Manfred Salow (born 1943 Friedland)
Berlin artist and sculptor of the GDR era.
It is a plaster model, which should be the basis of a bronze casting. The bronze sculpture wasn´t produced. The plaster model shows the GDR putter and Olympic champion of the GDR Hans-Peter Gies.
Set up 20 years outside in the garden, the sculpture was exposed to the weather: The plaster is lost in parts, the iron reinforcements come, the torso is branched in the middle.
The result is a completely new work of art, which receives a special charm just because of the infirmity.
