Description
The cast-iron plate, made in the first half of the 19th century, symbolizes the desire for peace. Already known from the Bible is the quote: "turn swords into plowshares". For the first time the motif was cast in the 17th century after the 30-year war in Ilsenburg (Harz) at the iron foundry Fürst-Stolberg-Hütte. The plate is in the German historical museum Berlin. The topic was taken again after the Battle of Leipzig for example, but also in the peace movement of the 1980s in the GDR, in which the motif was poured again in aluminum.
The plate is in good condition and has no cracks or breaks.
