Description

This design of camera dolly was available from the end of the 1950s. Individual components suggest that the dolly was manufactured in the USA and then exported to Europe. In the meantime, a wide variety of components have already been replaced or adapted, which is particularly evident in the superstructures of the carriage. In many cases, bolted connections of the metric system have been used.

Originally, these hydraulic dollies were probably developed during World War II for fitting rockets to aircraft. The film industry adapted the system.

The exclusively hydraulically operated camera dolly is equipped with a nitrogen bladder, which still has a small residual capacity in order to be able to perform approx. 1- 2 lifts with it before pressure has to be generated again.

The trolley is equipped with rubber tires (still original) and two-wheel steering. An additional option for driving on rails is not provided.

The condition of the shear dolly, marked by traces of use, does not affect its functionality. Particularly in the area of the carriage, the chrome plating is more damaged and certain areas are covered with corrosion. Single handle elements are broken off or lost.
