BENEŠ, Ladislav, * August 24, 1884 Prague, † October 6, 1956, sculptor.
From 1897 studied at the School of Art and Design in Prague, after which he worked as a plasterer. He was strongly influenced by the works of Auguste Rodin, and later by the works of Antoine Bourdelle and Aristide Maioll.
His work can be divided into two periods: In the first, he strives for harmony, which makes him one of the most important Czech sculptors of neoclassicism; in the second, he is filled with resignation and futility, which he captures emotionally and expressively.

Condition: Partially there are minor repulsions. The fingers of the raised hand are broken off.
